Spirit Weavers Gathering is a five day celebration of cultures past, a remembering and practicing of basic human skills to ensure the survival of the body and the soul. By gathering together as womxn, we share our skills in remembrance of our path and in honor of our ancestors. Through sharing space with one another, we are able to more gracefully arrive at a new understanding of what it would look like in our lives to more fully commit to being in right relationship to nature.

Cedar Bloom Farm
Cave Junction, Oregon
Sun Session: June 4-8, 2020
Moon Session: June 11-15, 2020

Caitlin will be joining Spirit Weavers again for her seventh year to share her passion of creating vessels.
She will be offering a Gourd Bowl Workshop during the Sun Session, June 4-8, 2020.

Gourds are a vegetable from the squash family, that can be grown in your home garden or on your farm! Once dried, they form hard shelled walls and act similar to wood. This specific species of “bottle/calabash gourds” (Lagenaria Siceraria) has had numerous uses throughout human history all around the world as utensils, tools, birdhouses, stringed musical instruments, rattles, drums, and more. Through the process of carving, gourds become vessels to hold food, water, and more.

During this hands-on workshop, we will be creating with loving intention and learning the process of cleaning, cutting, carving, and sanding a dried gourd into a finished bowl. Womxn will walk away with a vessel that will be food safe and ready to eat out of for many moons to come.
